Mountainview will impact South Denver and beyond by fostering a movement to start healthy 3G (Glorify, Grow, and Go) campuses and churches.
What does it mean to glorify God as an individual? As a spouse or parent? As an employee or employer? In simple terms, it means to conduct yourself in such a way that it brings God honor. The same is true for the church. We must use the filter, “Will this _____ honor God?”
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. – Colossians 3:1-4
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. – Colossians 3:23-24
GROW IN JESUS
Transformation is at the heart of Christianity. Through Jesus, God takes us from darkness to light, from death to life. Discipleship is the process of becoming more like Jesus.”
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. – Colossians 3:1-4
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work – Ephesians 4:11-16
GO IN HIS NAME
If we are truly following Jesus, then we will go where he goes. Whether across the street or around the world, the follower of Jesus must always live with a missionary mindset. A healthy, thriving church has an ever-increasing number of people who are actively engaged with non-Christians.
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. – Colossians 4:2-6
